Click for video: 🐻🎉 November is Cornell Crowdfunding month, please consider supporting a student club! the Cornell Quantum Computing club is where Cornell students are conducting research to store a quantum state for a few hours long, so that data can be reused between experiments (sort of like saving a file on a computer and opening it again to continue work on it). they’re mostly using equipment left over from professors’ experiments, but they need to manufacture a custom piece that can direct 5 lasers into the spot where the quantum state is stored quantum is such an exciting area, as quantum computers are almost here, they’re really good for discovering new drugs and new materials, because quantum computers can model physical atoms more realistically!!
