🐻🌲 Cornell Hemlock Initiative saves the Hemlock Trees in NY State!! the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) is an invasive bug, that eats the connective tissue of the Hemlock Tree, starving the new buds, killing the trees!! Professor Mark Whitmore uses natural predators, to eat the HWA, so that it wouldn’t spread!! he rears a population of beetles and flies that eat the HWA, and release them to hotspots around NY State!! Cornell Club of Albany has the most incredible events!! I attend their annual gathering every year, and I learn so much every time, last year was about Space Telescopes, this year about the Hemlock Trees!!
