🐻🎉 Cornellians running for Congress!! I took the train to Basking Ridge, to attend the NJ-07 Candidates forum!! Rebecca Bennett ’09 and Megan O’Rourke, PhD ’10, made wonderful speeches, and connected really well with their constituents!!!! Basking Ridge has such a wonderful history!! I visited the tree trunk, where George Washington sat under, during the Revolutionary War!! and I paid my respects to the graves of 35 Revolutionary War soldiers, it reminded me of the sacrifice in the formation of this country Rebecca Bennett ’09 made a wonderful speech about her Navy service, how she is raising 2 children and understands the importance of affordability, she is a patriot who loves her country Megan O’Rourke, PhD ’10, made a wonderful speech about the importance of science research, her experience with the labor unions, and her personal experience on Medicaid and affordability there’s 19 Cornellians running for Congress!! it is really important to attend their events, and listen to their speeches, and spread the word, it’s the most important for a healthy Democracy!!!
