I am loud on LinkedIn, but in reality, I spend 99% of my time meeting Cornellians 1-1, without anyone else knowing: - I talk to Cornellians who are looking for new jobs (they don’t want managers to know) - Cornellians starting startups (they don’t want competitors to know) - Cornellians who need help (they don’t want others to know) - Cornellian who are successful (they don’t want others to know) it is important to respect privacy, it is important to be discreet, I never name drop, I never gossip. I just sit quietly, and listen, and privately connect them with Cornellians who may be helpful, the warmth of the intro maintaining trust
