🐻🎓 I attended the College of HumEc graduation!! HumEc teaches graduates to embrace the human experience in all its messy glory, and solve the most important human problems: how to teach children from an early age (started Head Start!!), make cereal more nutritious, boost vaccination rates during the pandemic HumEc is full of Trailblazers!! Martha Van Rensselaer and Flora Rose were the first women faculty of Cornell, pushing the study of humans, to the same level as the study of engineering and the sciences!! Daniel Zhang ’26 made an incredible speech!! I used to ask "What is Human Ecology?", and I now realize the question should be "What isn’t Human Ecology?"!! human ecologists see the world from the most important perspective, how it affects humans, like you and me!! Dean Dunifon gave incredible advice!! bravery to take on the difficult challenges, trust that you’ll find the next steps, and bring along the best people to navigate the beautiful moments and the painful paths together!! it’s an incredible small school, with the most supportive professors and staff!! it’s a school where the studies become more important with AI!! the combination of empathy and science to solve the most important problems faced by humans!!!
