🐻🎉 I went to a NY Tech networking event!! I didn’t know anyone there, and I had a great time!! I approached each conversation with genuine curiousity! - when I learned someone was a tech salesperson, I was genuinely curious about his sales training program, and how he picked his career path! - when I learned someone studied at Stevens Institute, I was genuinely curious about their curriculum and career fairs! - when I learned someone was in construction, I was genuinely curious about the bidding process and how they simplify it with AI! - when I learned someone worked at a healthtech startup in Texas, I was genuinely curious how he chose his startup to work at, and how he thinks about career path in startups Cornell taught us to be a good at networking - Curiosity: I studied engineering physics, but I took classes all over, I learned about all kinds of interesting topics! human bonding, policy analysis, business, sociology, more!! - Diversity: I met so many people at Cornell, from all around the world, with all kinds of interests!! I learned to appreciate a diversity of perspectives, and how to connect with everyone!! - Confidence: I learned at Cornell that everyone’s a friend, and I feel comfortable walking up to anyone, and assuming we’d get along, and it happens!!
