🐻🚀 if you’re worried about layoffs, there’s 2 ways to protect yourself: 1) Become indispensable: own the client relationships, bridge two teams, become the expert on how the company makes money 2) Always have another offer in hand: grow your network, keep a pulse on the job market, build relationships that could become referrals the 2nd is far better. layoffs are usually out of your control, the CEO made a bad decision, but you’re the one who gets laid off. when a ship is sinking, it’s better to leave, so you can find the next better ship. the internal network vanishes the day you leave, but the external network follows you everywhere that’s why I always tell Cornellians to not stay late at work, instead, come to the Food Court Event to meet more Cornellians!!
