🐻💡 I’ve become some sort of Thought Leader, in the university Alumni Affairs industry!! Alumni Affairs staff of other universities are following me now! what they don’t realize, is that the Cornell community is special!! what works for Cornellians, would not work for other universities!! for example, during the pandemic, other universities tried to copy the global zoom mixers, but they all failed!! Cornell had the largest global zooms (peak of 450 Cornellians, from 30 countries, chatting with each other, in 50 breakout rooms!!), and the longest-lasting, every 2 weeks for over 5 years now, and still going strong!!! (no other school has this!!!) community building only works, when you’re building on a real foundation. Cornell has the best alumni, not just by 10%, but by 10,000%+. it only works, because Cornellians want to meet each other, and make friends with each other, that they would even travel 2 hours to a food court, just to meet Cornellians (it seems normal to Cornellians, but this is extremely extremely special!! no other school has this!!) if you’re alumni affairs staff at another university, and you’re good at your job, you should consider working at Cornell!! Cornell is the best place to work, and you’ll be able to achieve so much more!! also, Cornellians really appreciate our alumni affairs staff!! (hundreds of Cornellians sign the annual holiday card for our alumni affairs, filled with amazing messages of gratitude!! no other school has this!!!) -- P.S. I don’t work for Alumni Affairs, I’m just a Cornellian, very grateful for the Cornell community, and our wonderful Alumni Affairs staff!!
