🐻✡️ LizAnn Rogovoy Eisen ’94 is the new Executive Director of the Elie Wiesel Foundation, to continue Elie Wiesel’s important legacy in Jewish memory and human rights. Last night, I attended the inaugural Elie Wiesel and Mark Podwal Prize in Visual Arts, to celebrate Jewish American artistic expression, the art beautifully expressed the Jewish American experience, i.e. - the NY Yankees cap and the Shabbat candles and yellow ribbons - the mixture of Jewish books in English, and Jewish books in Hebrew, mixed together in one big beautiful bookshelf of knowledge - a Golem made of Legos, any child can build the Golem to protect themselves through the night it’s an incredible legacy, Elie Wiesel started the Foundation with proceeds from his Nobel Peace Prize, in order to fight for Human Rights all around the world, with ethics classes, education centers, and now this new Prize in Visual Arts Elie Wiesel saw the power of the Visual Arts, in telling the Jewish story, and I was most impressed by the Elie Wiesel’s son, who continues his father’s legacy, by passing the leadership/vision through the generations LizAnn is looking to hire a summer intern! work on an important mission, reach out to LizAnn!!
