Mobile uploads 🇺🇸🏛️ I went to the Capitol tonight, to pay my respects to Jimmy Carter, I find his public service inspirational, how much he cared about human rights, and his efforts to help people. In his presidential farewell speech: "America did not invent human rights. In a very real sense, it is the other way round. Human rights invented America. Ours was the first nation in the history of the world to be founded explicitly on such an idea. Our social and political progress has been based on one fundamental principle - the value and importance of the individual." Tonight, I met a farmer from rural South Carolina, and a schoolteacher from Maine, they came to DC to pay their respect as well. We waited in line together, the line went by the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. once we got into the Capitol Rotunda, it was a beautiful dignified environment, the soldiers standing guard, historical paintings on the wall, and the US flag draped over the casket. I feel very grateful, I feel like I saw the best of America tonight, and I feel very grateful to be an American.
