Mobile uploads 🐻🍔 Ithaca Food: Ninja Chicken is the new chicken shop in Collegetown!! specializing in fried chicken from Qingdao (northeastern China, where the Tsingtao beer comes from!!), and bubble tea from Taiwan! I got the Combo B, with 4 Popcorn Chicken (5/5), 3 Chicken Tenders (5/5), 2 Chicken Wings (5/5), and a side of Milk Bubble Tea (5/5)!! The chicken was phenomenal, the chicken tenders use thigh meat, the chicken grease glistened in the evening sun, and there’s a nice layer of red-hot spice between the chicken and the breading, superb!! I like the fresh radish, the sharp acidity balancing the palette against the heavy chicken oils! The bubble milk tea had good quality freshly-made boba, and it was the first time I got bubble tea as part of a combo (it’s usually soda), a great touch!! The presentation was (5/5), the yellow box it came with, was easy to carry from the restaurant to my picnic spot, the Chinese proverbs on the box are fantastic, "we put our heart into making the chicken, so please enjoy the chicken" (with a play on words, where the "enjoy" uses the Chinese word for heart in it too, so it’s both of our hearts, together for the chicken)! they also provided fried chicken gloves to keep the hands clean when eating the chicken (I can’t read Chinese too well, I initially thought it was a towelette, so I didn’t use it to its full potential!!) It’s still in soft opening, they’re adjusting the menu constantly (thus the tape over some items), and they’ll have their official launch when the students are back in August!! I asked the owner how he came to Ithaca from Qingdao, he came to Ithaca 5 years ago to work at a Chinese restaurant, and now he saved up enough to open his own Ninja Chicken restaurant!!
