Mobile uploads 🐻🎶 Off-Broadway Musical by Kim Bixler ’91!! (red shirt in picture) it’s about the Barbatuques, a musical group in Brazil, who taught kids music through body percussion, the kids don’t have access to instruments like drum sets, so they learned music through their body! finger snap, hand clap, finger snap, chest clap, stomp stomp, mouth clap! It was very heartwarming, seeing how music overcomes difficulties. They couldn’t afford to perform at nice venues, and a car alarm went off at one of their venues, so they incorporated the alarm sounds into their performance The musical was at Progrones Theater, it’s a small theater in Bronx that promotes Latino musicals, and most of the cast are Latino, hoping to get into more musical performances. At the after-party, it was wonderful to see how supportive everyone is for each other!
