Mobile uploads 🐻🏥 Guthrie Hospital Headquarters!! Guthrie and Cayuga Med are the 2 main hospitals in Ithaca, Guthrie is headquartered in Sayre, PA, and I was driving through on my way back to DC, so I stopped by the cafeteria! I got the black self-serve coffee (5/5) and I got the Guthrie Fried Fish Sandwich (5/5), the coffee had a good balance of nut and chocolate notes, and the fish sandwich had good flaking and I think it was made with salted fish, yum!! I was pleasantly surprised that the coffee was $0.75 and the fish sandwich was $1.49, it reminded me of cafeteria prices back in middle school!!! it was an excellent mid-drive stop, with fast wifi, so I could run the weekly Cornell crossword zoom! Guthrie has been expanding everywhere (they just bought up Lourdes in Binghamton!!), and it was inspiring to see how they live their values. The main entryway is lined with pictures of their doctors and nurses, to show healthcare comes first. A nurse told me how during busy times, the administrators would roll up their sleeves and help out as well. After Ukraine was invaded, Guthrie donated 40 pallets of medical supplies. I also liked their artwork: photos that feature the beautiful nature of Sayre, sculptures that show ancient medical procedures like weighing the baby, superhero pictures that thank the doctors and nurses for their work! I especially liked the chapel, that had the tablet, "This tablet is placed as a loving tribute to Dr Donald Guthrie and the devoted nurses of this institution who are giving the best years of their lives so unselfishly for the relief of Humanity." thank you doctors and nurses and staff!!!
