🐻🌽 Cornell’s Grow NY Conference!! Agriculture is super-important in NY State, and Cornell translates agricultural research into real-world impact (as a land grant university!!)! The CALS dean shared all the amazing Cornell research on Controlled Environment Agriculture (like greenhouses and vertical farming), as well as cow methane reduction (less cow burping!!), and more!
In the exhibit hall, I met so many agtech startups, one that counts apples in orchards, one that turns grape skin and seeds into nutritious powder, one that checks the freshness of foods in the fridge, one that makes snack bars that tastes like chicken curry, one that makes baby food cold-packed to keep all the nutrients, the Grow NY conference attracts startups from around the world, to come and build their headquarters in upstate New York! I learned about Cornell’s Center of Excellence in Geneva, where food product companies get help from manufacturing and food science experts, trying to grow the 200 upstate copackers!
Amazing work by the AudioVisual team too, they got all the video/presentations just right, with lights on the walls, and the beautiful TV screen backdrop, made for a cool and inspiring conference vibe!!!
