Mobile uploads 🐻💼 Cornell Family Business Conference!! 180 family businesses gather at Statler, every year, to discuss family business topics like taxes, succession, legislation, work-life balance! My favorite part is the Family Business Dinner, that features all the family wineries and family bakeries and family spicers!! I really liked the Red Head Wine by Marisa Sergi ’15 (5/5) and the Chicken Spices by Andrew Salamida ’15 (5/5) and the Rise Coffee by Jarrett McGovern ’04 (5/5) Cornell is the top school for family businesses now!! monthly roundtables connecting family businesses together (older generation, newer generation), family business mentorship program, a research lab dedicated to family businesses (from legislation effects on family businesses to succession research), and 3 classes that students can take (NBA 5820 Leaders in Family Businesses, NBA 6720 Financial and Managerial Perspectives in Family Businesses, Family Business Trek in Italy) The community is super-welcoming, everyone is very willing to share their experiences, many have been coming every year (since it started 9 years ago)! Family businesses face many similar issues, and there’s so much to learn across industries, and to make friendships!!
