Mobile uploads 🐻🍔 Ithaca Food: Authentic Jerk!! Jamaican food in Center of Ithaca Commons, newly opened, I’ve had their jerk chicken at festivals before, it’s so exciting to see a physical storefront! I got the Fricassee Chicken (5/5) with white rice (5/5) and collard greens (5/5), I really liked the sauciness of the chicken, it mixed so well with the white rice, a juicy bite each bite!! I ate the food outside, next to the Downtown Commons Pavilion, and I saw a press rally, regarding Cornell’s payment to Ithaca each year. It’s a stressful time in Ithaca right now, because Cornell’s annual payment to Ithaca is 5-10% of Ithaca’s budget each year, which needs to be approved in the next week. Ithaca is a wonderful city, that really depends on Cornell’s payment, but would benefit from improved payment terms, ie one that gets reassessed more frequently, rather than one that only tracks inflation over the next 20 years. (Ithaca and Cornell changes far more than just inflation each year) It’s hard to figure out a fair payment structure, but I do believe this is Democracy at its finest, a small band of engaged citizens, rallying for a cause, it’s so heartening, the care for community, the care for neighbors, the care for future generations. Ithaca is so wonderful!!!
