🐻🚀 Weill Cornell had a Biomedical Innovation Challenge last night!! the best Cornell professors commercialize their research, and pitch their new startups!!
- one professor is building a startup to diagnose Alzheimer’s earlier, in the effective treatment window, by using VR headsets to track patterns in brain response!
- one professor is building a trusted health-first social media platform, so patients can get mental health and healthier lifestyle information, that’s personalized by their individual health data
- one professor is building an AI model that analyzes hospital costs and patient outcomes, to identify ways hospitals can reduce costs and improve outcomes!
NYC’s top biomedical entrepreneurship ecosystem all came to the event:
- I met an entrepreneur building synthetic cell membranes to check for drug safety during drug development
- I met two entrepreneurs building digital health to help hospitals with prior authorization using AI
- I met the amazing Weill Cornell Tech Transfer office, with a mighty portfolio of amazing research patents
- I met a Business Development for the top Contract Research Organization
- I met a Business Development for a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization, that specializes in enzymes for healthcare and agriculture
- I met a cardiologist, an oncologist, and several imaging experts too!!
The event reminds me of the after-parties at the JPM healthcare conference, a wide range of biomedical professionasl happily coming together, and connecting with each other!!
