Mobile uploads 🐻🌽 I visited an Urban Farm in NYC!! The Cornell Cooperative Extension in NYC, teaches best practices on urban agriculture! This lecture was about climate resilience, i.e. how to deal with frost, windy conditions, bad soil quality, and more!! Urban farms have a lot of unique challenges! there’s a lot more decision makers, i.e. one urban farm on a rooftop has to get approvals from the building owner, as well as make friends with the maintenance to have access to water during cold weather, and has to build a community among the building tenants to create the community supported farm!! A lot of the urban farms get grants from the government, to solve for food deserts, as well as work with culinary schools in the area, as well as sell vegetables to the high-end restaurants in the area! fascinating industry!!!
