Mobile uploads 🐻🎒 I visited a Cornellian’s school!! Debra Stern ’87 is executive director of the Amani Public Charter School, that serves 5th-8th grades, in a diverse under-resourced neighborhood!! I attended the fundraising music performance, the students are so talented!!! It is a wonderful inspirational environment, I love how each of the classrooms are named after colleges (Cornell is one of the classrooms!!), which encourages students to go to those colleges!!! the teachers were very passionate about teaching, when one of the teachers won a raffle item, the students all cheered!! The stairs had inspirational words like accountability, hard work, integrity, as you climb them!! the bulletin boards in the hallways celebrate the good work by the students!! I like the Women History Month essays posted, where students wrote about inspirational women like Aretha Franklin and Amelia Earhart! I met a bunch of Cornellians, they all came to support Debra’s school! several serve on the board of the school as well!!
