Katie Fry Hester ’97 won her Primary for MD Senate - 9!! She’s the incumbent, and has been doing a great job as State Senator since 2019, she championed bills on AI and cybersecurity, as well as environmental resiliency, and medicaid for mental health!! Eli Northrup ’07 won his Primary for NY Assembly, District 69!! before running for office, he was a public defender in the Bronx, as well as an immigrant advocate!! I really like his campaign slogans: "My Guy Eli" and "Rely on Eli"!! Thank you to all the Cornellians who ran, it takes courage to run, and patriotism to trudge through the ups and downs of campaigns, and democracy only works because good people step forward and run!! I really hope more Cornellians run for office!!
