You tagged Prabu Selvam Click for video: 🐻🚀 Prabu Selvam ’07 is running for County Council!! it’s his first time running, but he’s always been in public service: he’s an Air Force veteran, emergency room doctor, and humanitarian aid worker he’s an incredible candidate: - he talked about being a humanitarian aid worker, where he goes to disaster areas, meets people when they’re most vulnerable, and he has to quickly build trust with them - he talked about being an ER doctor, where he takes responsibility for his patients’ outcomes, does everything he can to help them - he talked about public service, how he doesn’t see himself as just an ER doctor, but someone who is part of the greater community, and he’s running for office because he feels a calling to help the community he grew up in I was amazed by the breadth of his support!! - a union steward came to support, because he attended their rallies during their funding cuts - an animal shelter organizer came to support, because he visited their shelter to learn about the veterinary and food needs - a biotech businessman came to support, because Prabu understands healthcare and science - I also met a wonderful community of family and friends, as well as a friend from Cornell!! he’s running for an at-large seat for Montgomery County, MD!! it’s the northern suburbs of DC, where there’s a lot of government orgs (NIH, NIST), as well as biotech companies and nonprofits!! Prabu grew up in Montgomery County, went to Cornell and served 7 years in the Air Force, and he moved back home with his family, and is now running for office!!
