🐻🕯️ I am really saddened by Professor Fennie’s passing this weekend, he was a professor in Applied and Engineering Physics, I just saw him at Graduation, he was always so friendly, he remembered I always come to Reunion every year, and he told me he looked forward to seeing me at Reunion He was an incredible researcher, he won the MacArthur Fellowship Genius Grant, where he used theoretical physics to predict material properties, and synthesize those materials into reality. He was an incredible teacher, he was AEP’s Director of Undergraduate Studies, he gave out the undergrad awards during the graduation ceremony, and was super-approachable for all the students. He embodied what made AEP such a special department, a small tight-knit welcoming community, with the most cutting-edge research.
