🐻🦅 this weekend is The Great Backyard Bird Count!! Cornell Lab of Ornithology has events all around the world, to organize community scientists to count birds!! I went to the event in Cos Cob Library in Greenwich!!
I used binoculars, and saw 2 pigeons, 4 sparrows, 2 cardinals, and more!! I submitted my checklist to eBirds app, to help researchers at Cornell Lab of Ornithology track bird species!!!
it was so much fun, and I learned a bunch!! for example, if you have a house, you can plant native berry bushes like winterberry, to attract songbirds! and that there are dabbling ducks and diver ducks, and the diver ducks have special oil on their feathers to dive deep underwater!!
I really like the Cos Cob neighborhood!! I explored a bit after birdwatching! I went to Wildacre Rotisserie, right by the pond, and I ate a rotisserie chicken (5/5), with honey dijon sauce (5/5) and a side of cauliflower (5/5)! Cos Cob is a great neighborhood, full of activities and restaurants!!!
